Veteran CNN anchor Christiane Amanpour and Israeli Top Minister Naftali Bennett battled on-air over the Israeli-Palestinian struggle and settler violence, resulting in Bennett accusing Amanpour of mendacity in how she framed her questioning.

“The West Financial institution has been occupied since 1967, settlers are allowed to be there. It’s a minority, I know that, however they’re there and they’re violent, this minority,” she mentioned adding that “settlers in occupied territories” are “typically deemed unlawful by using the remainder of the world.”

Amanpour persevered, as Bennett shook his head, studying a quote from IDF Primary Command chief Maj. Gen. Yehuda Fuchs pronouncing he was concerned by way of “settler terrorism.”

“What you’ve been projecting is blatantly false,” Bennett stated, as Amanpour jumped in. “It’s a lie, simply a lie.”

“No, sir, you cannot say that to me,” she hit back. “You can not tell me I’m lying.”

“Well, you’re misrepresenting the facts… I said a tiny minority, and I object [to] the symmetry that you simply’re seeking to create right here,” Bennett responded.

“There’s no symmetry. I’m speaking about your personal generals,” responded Amanpour in the interview from Wednesday night time.

Bennett then went on to provide an explanation for his objections to Amanpour’s premise:

But who’s getting murdered? We’re seeing Palestinians murder Israelis. We’re not seeing Israelis murdering Palestinians, and that’s why there’s no symmetry here,” he said. “I also object, these aren’t occupied territories, they’re territories in dispute, and we’ve claimed to our personal place in addition to them.

“I get it. No one’s going anyplace,” he brought. “We have now to figure out how you can reside collectively. That’s my job. To offer safety for Israelis, dignity for Palestinians. I’m working on that very hard, and we’re succeeding,” Bennett endured, concluding:

The issue is that the Palestinian management is totally corrupt, incompetent, so we now have to do the job because there’s no one to work with on the other side, and… indeed, we’re including jobs, higher jobs, but on the finish of the day, my utmost accountability is to offer security to the Israeli folks.
