Whoopi Goldberg defended “the evangelicals of my youth” after co-hosts slammed the contemporary Faith & Freedom Coalition conference that saw attendees boo Chris Christie and cheer Donald Trump for pronouncing, “I’m being indicted for you.”

“What was surprising to me was the hypocrisy of the evangelical neighborhood, booing on the fact,” said Sunny Hostin. “I mean, we will all have differences of opinions, however the tips remain the same. And, [Trump] did these items, so it’s the same as they were going, ‘la la la la la la la la’ like little kids, because they’re still going to vote for him.”

Sara Haines agreed, pronouncing, “The first time around, I remember that…I don’t take into account the kind of ‘explaining this away,’ however some folks said it was once simply to get these Supreme Court justices. Their one problem, their one issue. And so they received them. To me, it’s extra stunning they continue to be there after they got their justices.”

“The evangelicals aren’t the evangelicals of my formative years,” Goldberg stated all over the dialogue. “I’ve always identified evangelicals. And while we have different roads to God, they’re, you realize, principally the same roads. However I don’t be aware of who these folks are.”

After a quick dialogue of Jerry Falwell and his scandal-plagued son, Whoopi reminded her co-hosts, “You already know, the thing about evangelicals that all of us have to understand that is that they’re human beings. They’re folks and they’re wrong, like all of us, so, you know, when they wake up and realize that God might not be on their facet the best way they believe he’s, as a result of any person who says, ‘I’m doing this for you,’ sounds lots like, you recognize.”

“The good J.C.,” Haines said, relating to Jesus Christ.

“A lot of them are such excellent people and being taken via this charlatan, which is distressing,” Hostin said.
