MSNBC’s Ali Velshi expressed confusion on Friday over a speech via 2024 Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy railing towards “wokism, transgenderism, climatism,” and “Covidism.”

Filling in for Pleasure Reid on MSNBC’s The ReidOut, Velshi performed a compilation of clips from the Faith and Freedom Coalition’s annual conference, which incorporated a clip of Ramaswamy’s speech.

“That is when the poison fills the void,” Ramaswamy mentioned. “Wokism, transgenderism, climatism, Covidism, globalism, despair, anxiousness, drug utilization, suicide…”

“What on Earth is he talking about?” puzzled Velshi. “I’m slightly shocked. Vivek Ramaswamy continues to impress me together with his ability to provide you with new stuff all the time.”

He persevered, “Climatism, never heard of that. I’m very involved about the local weather, does that make me a climatist? Covidism, I used to be focused on Covid, I wore a mask, I assume I’m a covidist. Uh, I don’t recognize where he threw in pornography into this entire thing.”

Responding to Ramaswamy’s mention of multiculturalism, Velshi said, “Canada has extra people for the first time than maple trees as an immediate result of its engagement of multiculturalism, of immigration, and of seeking out the world’s refugees to populate it. All of this stuff that he’s talking about, numerous Americans wear as a badge of honor.”
