Diplomats walked out of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s address on Tuesday before the UN Human Rights Council amid Russia‘s armed forces invasion of Ukraine.

Austrian Ambassador to the UN Elisabeth Tichy-Fisslberger posted a video on Twitter of the walkout in Geneva.

“This morning within the UN Human Rights Council more than 140 diplomats refused to listen to Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov’s futile try to justify unacceptable defense force aggression. Watch them leave the Council Chamber,” she tweeted.

“Envoys from Syria, China and Venezuela had been amongst delegations that stayed,” suggested Reuters, which delivered, “In his speech, Lavrov accused the EU of attractive in a ‘Russophobic frenzy’ through imparting lethal weapons to Ukraine all over Moscow’s armed forces marketing campaign that started closing Thursday.”

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which started just about one week ago, has consisted of cyberattacks, bombings and other battle. America and the West have replied with condemnations of Russia and assistance, together with military support, to Ukraine. On Monday, Switzerland ended its coverage of neutrality and announced sanctions towards Russia.
