The Home of Representatives overwhelmingly voted to cross legislation targeting pressured organ harvesting on Monday. It passed 413 to 2.
The two lawmakers who voted against the measure are Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Thomas Massie (R-KY). Nineteen Home contributors didn’t vote.
“This bill imposes sanctions on persons (individuals and entities) excited by forced organ trafficking and authorizes the Department of State to revoke the passports of people convicted of sure crimes related to organ trafficking,” a abstract of the rules reads.
Greene and Massie have received reputations for vote casting against reputedly inoffensive and bipartisan regulation. In February, the pair voted against a decision mourning the tens of lots of people that died within the earthquakes in Syria and Turkey.
Massie drew the ire of then-President Donald Trump in 2020 when he voted towards a $2 trillion Covid-19 aid bill.
Trump known as him “a 3rd price Grandstander,” but later recommended him for reelection.
Former Secretary of State John Kerry retweeted Trump to claim, “Congressman Massie has examined positive for being an asshole.”
Trump in turn retweeted Kerry, pointing out, “Never knew John Kerry had such a just right sense of humor! Very impressed!”
Massie joked about Kerry’s observation on Fox Industry in September.
“He known as me an asshole more than once,” the congressman mentioned on air.
