Former President Donald Trump mentioned he “would testify” in his upcoming legal trial in Manhattan.

Whether he if truth be told does remains to be seen.

On Friday, Trump held a press convention about “election integrity” with Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), who traveled to Mar-a-Lago to kiss the ring as he fends off a problem to his management within the House. After their meeting, Trump spoke in short prior to turning the dais over to Johnson, who hyped claims of election fraud. After Johnson spoke, the previous president took middle stage and fielded some questions from journalists.

One asked if he will testify in his trial in New York, where he faces 34 felony counts of falsifying business information to conceal hush cash payments to quilt up extramarital affairs. Trump has pleaded not guilty.

“Do you propose to testify for your trial in New York?” a reporter off digicam requested.

“Yeah, I would testify, completely,” Trump replied. “It’s a scam. It’s a rip-off. That’s now not a trial. That’s not a trial. That’s a scam.”

Trump mentioned two Fox Information legal analysts to again up his declare that the charges are “a rip-off.”

“It’s election interference and it’s bought to stop,” he persevered. “It’s a third-world united states. This u . s .’s never finished it.”

The previous president re-upped his attacks on Judge Juan Merchan, who’s presiding over the case.

“It’s very unfair that we’ve this judge who hates Trump and has marvelous warfare as you realize, marvelous battle,” he stated. “No one can imagine that this judge isn’t recusing himself. The conflict is at a level that no person’s ever viewed earlier than.

Jury selection in Trump’s New York trial begins on Monday.
