Kristina Karamo has the endorsement of former President Donald Trump in her bid to turn into Michigan’s next Secretary of State. She additionally has some…attention-grabbing…theories about satanic practices, claiming on her podcast that she was once certain demonic possession used to be real, and what’s more, will be sexually transmitted.

CNN KFile reporters Em Steck and Andrew Kaczynski reviewed episodes of Karamo’s podcast, It’s Stable Food, and dug up plenty of feedback she had made calling abortion a “child sacrifice” and “very satanic practice,” together with this from October 2020:

“When individuals in other cultures, when they engage in youngster sacrifice, they didn’t just sacrifice the infant for the sake of bloodshed,” Karamo mentioned later in the episode. “They sacrificed the baby cuz they had been hoping to get prosperity and that’s precisely why people have abortion now. ‘Because I’m no longer prepared. I don’t wanna have a child. I don’t really feel like it. I don’t have time. I wanna make more money. I want my freedom.’ So that you’re sacrificing that kid hoping to get one thing out of their death, which is your freedom, your happiness, your prosperity.”

This “kid sacrifice” was being made to “deities” who were in reality “demons,” Karamo stated in a July 2020 episode.

In but any other episode, Karamo warned about the chance of catching sexually transmitted demonic possession:

“If a person has demonic possession — I understand it’s gonna sound truly loopy to me announcing that for some people, pondering like what?!” Karamo mentioned in September 2020. “However having intimate relationships with people who are demonically possessed or oppressed — I strongly imagine that an individual opens themselves as much as possession. Demonic possession is actual.”

She gained prominence within the GOP — and Trump’s desire — through baselessly claiming she had witnessed fraud all the way through the 2020 election, taking part in probably the most former president’s many failed court cases and persevering with to promulgate conspiracy theories about the election. She’s had an ongoing affiliation with QAnon, including speaking at a QAnon convention in Las Vegas ultimate October.

She’s also made anti-LGBTQ comments and accused couples who cohabit sooner than marriage of “open[ing] the door” to people who “wish to normalize pedophilia.”

Karamo is facing a number of other Republican candidates in Michigan’s August 2 primary. The winner will go on to combat incumbent Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson (D-MI) in November.
