Wallace interviewed the finished character actor for this week’s edition of his Max series Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace on a variety of topics, including the roles he has portrayed in his lengthy career.

When Wallace requested about Thomas, Pierce slammed the justice for failing to acknowledge racism, and inserting the blame for a undeniable difficulty on the fallacious factor:

WALLACE: In 2016, you performed some other lawyer, named Clarence Thomas in the, as he confronted costs of harassment within the HBO movie, Confirmation. This is one of the traditional “he mentioned she said” cases. Who do you think was once telling the reality, Clarence Thomas, or Anita Hill?

PIERCE: Something took place between them. The impropriety, stage of impropriety, I don’t suppose we will be able to ever actually recognize. Clarence Thomas was once similar to me, is very similar to me. Grew up within the South, figuring out and feeling situations of racism. Black Catholic.

However I, that is my opinion concerning the man, the perception – he was once if truth be told a Black radical when he used to be in school.

And I feel there’s the second I noticed where the politics separated, and it’s not on account of politics. It is on account of humanity. One thing that took place to you.

He could not get a job at, with a Yale degree in legislation, in Savannah. And as an alternative of him being able to perceive that as the racist act that it was once, this is an previous boys community and you’re no longer going to be a part of it. He in flip, blamed it on affirmative action. Right.

WALLACE: Come what may his Yale degree was once –

PIERCE: Yeah, this is my Yale level they usually don’t see me as useful and it’s because of the affirmative motion. If I had a chance, I would say to the justice – they just didn’t like your Black ass.
