ABC News senior congressional correspondent Rachel Scott used to be booed and heckled by way of Home Republicans on Tuesday after she asked Republican nominee for Home speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) a query about “the trouble to overturn the 2020 election consequence.”

Johnson held a press conference flanked by a lot of his Republican colleagues after it was announced that he will be the fourth Republican nominee for Home speaker this month.

As Johnson fielded questions from individuals of the press, Scott asked, “Mr. Johnson, you helped lead the trouble to overturn the 2020 election outcome. Do you—”

Scott used to be fast drowned out via House Republicans who laughed, booed, and heckled the reporter while Johnson shook his head at her.

80-year-outdated Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC) — who stood next to Johnson on the podium along with Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) — had the loudest response, yelling, “Shut up! Shut up!” ahead of Johnson moved on to the subsequent query.

Following the incident, Scott recognized herself on social media because the reporter from the clicking convention:

I requested the Mike Johnson if he stands via his efforts to try to overturn the 2020 election.

Contributors began boo’ing.

I also asked if he would improve extra assist to Ukraine and Irael.

“Go away! Go away!” one member shouted.

“We’re no longer doing any coverage tonight,” Johnson said.

Johnson turned into the most recent Republican nominee for House speaker on Tuesday with 128 votes after Rep. Tom Emmer (R-MN) dropped out of the race that same day, just hours after his own nomination, after he obtained opposition from former President Donald Trump.
