A GOP lawmaker vented at retired National Institute of Hypersensitive reaction and Infectious Illnesses Director Dr. Anthony Fauci — promising he’d “gladly” lower Fauci’s pay in an alternate universe where he never retired — in a dead-of-night rant on the floor of the Home of Representatives.

Because the Republican-led Home tries to pass price range legislation to prevent some other executive shutdown, Rep. Matt Rosendale (R-MT) used his time on the Home floor to try and pass amendments relitigating Dr. Fauci’s tenure via defunding packages that Fauci supported.

Quickly ahead of midnight, Rosendale and Rep. Rosa DeLauro duked it out over Fauci’s legacy in dueling flooring speeches that resulted in a surreal rant — flagged by using Acyn Torabi — in which Rosendale promised the citizens of the Multiverse that someplace, someday, the Dr. Fauci who never retired (and maybe has hotdog fingers?) toils away for ZERO bucks — however would settle for reducing the pay of researcher Dr. Vincent Munster instead:

Mr. Chair, the representative from Connecticut spends a lot of time giving accolades to Anthony Fauci.

Neatly, I would like to tell you that we gladly would scale back his compensation to zero! And I would have tens of thousands and thousands of Americans sign up for me in to ensure that that happens!

But he used to be sensible enough to get out of city while the getting was once excellent! He resigned. He retired.

Unfortunately, we’re going to be paying compensation to him for slightly a while. However the topic this night is the compensation of Vincent Munster, who acted in a negligent and reckless method.

And I might reserve the best to to scale back his salary, or request the best to scale back his earnings to zero with this amendment. With that, I ask all my colleagues support the modification and I yield again.

The modification was tabled when Rep. DeLauro demanded a recorded vote.

Watch above by way of C-SPAN.
