The Obama administration's Director of the National Economic Council Sperling speaks with New York Times Leonhardt at the fifth annual Washington Ideas Forum at the Newseum in WashingtonBy Roberta Rampton WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Barack Obama's prime economic aide Gene Sperling is suspending his departure from the White House for a month while his substitute, Jeffrey Zients, gears up for the brand new job after overseeing intensive efforts to fix the web site used to shop for Obamacare medical insurance, the White House said on Tuesday. Obama had announced in September that his longtime adviser Sperling would step down as head of the National Financial Council on January 1, and named Zients, a relied on finances aide, as his replacement. The White House has said that Zients, who is a different adviser for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, will probably be changed when he begins his new job. Zients' replacement has no longer yet been introduced.
