Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) was asked on Tuesday to weigh in on former President Donald Trump saying immigrants are “poisoning the blood” of our united states of america – a remark that it seems that hit with reference to house for the Kentucky Republican.

“Are you relaxed with your birthday party’s leading presidential candidate referring to immigrants as people who find themselves poisoning the blood of our u . s .?” CNN’s Manu Raju asked McConnell all through a Capitol Hill press convention.

In September of 2022, Trump made headlines for a social media attack on Chao that used to be widely seen as both racist and perilous.

“Is McConnell approving all of those Trillions of Dollars value of Democrat subsidized Payments, without even the slightest little bit of negotiation, as a result of he hates Donald J. Trump, and he knows I’m strongly opposed to them, or is he doing it as a result of he believes within the Pretend and Highly Damaging Green New Deal, and is prepared to take the Usa down with him?” wrote Trump on his Reality Social platform.

“In any experience, either cause is unacceptable. He has a DEATH WISH. Should immediately are trying to find assist and advise from his China loving wife, Coco Chow!” Trump concluded. Chao used to be born in Taiwan and served in each Trump’s and President George W. Bush’s cupboard – becoming the first Asian American girl ever to serve in a presidential cabinet.

Trump’s death wish commentary was interpreted by way of critics as a danger against McConnell. MSNBC’s Chris Hayes commented at the time, “Kinda looks like the ex-president just posted a loss of life possibility geared toward Mitch McConnell… I imply, I assume he means it figuratively? Maybe?”
