Kevin McCarthy Claims He "Never" Wanted Trump to Resign After Jan. 6

Home Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) said on Friday he “never” said he believed former President Donald Trump should have resigned within the days after the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

McCarthy made the declare a day after audio performed via MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow proved he in fact told Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) he wanted Trump gone sooner than finish of his time period in place of job.

Asked point clean if he said he ever thought Trump must resign, McCarthy stated he didn’t.

“I’ve by no means requested the president to resign,” McCarthy mentioned, adding he “never” concept Trump must have left office early after the Capitol was once ransacked via a pro-Trump mob.
