John Mulaney went after New York Metropolis Mayor Eric Adams (D) for defending the contemporary arrest of a seller promoting mangos on the subway … whereas Adams used to be in the target audience.

Adams defended the arrest at a press convention on Monday.
“Next day, it’s propane tanks being on the subway gadget,” he said. “The next day to come, it’s barbecuing on the subway device. You just can’t do this.”
Mulaney mocked the mayor’s comments while on stage at the Robin Hood benefit that evening that the mayor attended.
“Mayor Adams, what are you talking about? What are you picturing? What is a subway barbecue, and why do you hate them a lot?” Mulaney continued. “Were you dumped as a teen at a subway barbecue?”
Mulaney went on to roast the mayor for addressing “two problems after which a crazy one.”
“No guns, no crime, no barbecues on the subway!” Mulaney stated. “Better faculties, better transportation, no extra volleyball games on the [Brooklyn-Queens Expressway]!”
The comic then expressed his appreciation for Adams, joking, “I love Mayor Adams. He’s finished so much good for town that he’s pondering of transferring right here.”
