Joan Rivers is standing by feedback she made about hundreds of Palestinians who “deserve to be lifeless,” whereas arguing that her phrases have been “completely taken out of context.” On Thursday the comedian said of the civilians killed in Gaza, “They had been informed to get out, and if [you] don’t get out, you’re an fool. At the least those who had been killed had been those with low IQs.”

She later posted an explanation of her remarks on Facebook:

Up to now, Rivers said that media retailers like BBC and CNN “will have to be ashamed of themselves” for airing what she views as protection that is biased in opposition to Israel. “The Palestinians — you can not throw rockets and predict folks not to protect themselves,” she said. “They started it.”
