Rep. George Santos (R-NY) lamented rising crime in a floor speech on Tuesday whereas he is the subject of federal and state prison investigations.

The freshman congressman used to be elected in November, but six weeks later was once discovered to have fabricated much of his biography, together with where he went to high school, worked, and being Jewish. He also falsely claimed his mother was within the World Change Center right through the September 11 attacks.

Santos faces critical questions about his price range. He loaned his 2022 marketing campaign $705,000 after he suggested no assets and a $55,000 cash on a disclosure form in 2020. It is uncertain the place the money came from.

There are also considerations with one of the most donor names his marketing campaign listed in filings with the Federal Election Fee, as some of them don’t seem to exist.

The congressman is reportedly facing a legal probe in Nassau County, in addition to a legal investigation by means of the U.S. Department of Justice.

Santos took to the Home ground on Tuesday to bemoan the alleged crime wave in his district, to which he could or may not be contributing.

“I rise lately to honor the courageous men and women of the Nassau County Police Division,” he started out, praising officers who might conceivably arrest him someday if the county decides to prosecute. “Closing week the Nassau P.D. arrested eight males in New York’s 1/3 congressional district who’re said to be part of an geared up theft staff from South America. Whereas I’m grateful for their ongoing dedication to fighting these acts of violence, but [sic] for suburban New Yorkers in New York’s third congressional district, we’re seeing a major uptick in crime.”

After his oxymoronic remark a few “major uptick,” Santos went on to rattle off a number of information about crime in Nassau County.
