Conservative attorney George Conway predicted that the testimony of Michael Cohen in Donald Trump’s hush cash trial might be damning.

Cohen made a $130,000 payment to grownup film actress Stormy Daniels on Trump’s behalf less than a month before the 2016 election. Daniels has alleged she had an affair with Trump and the cash was once supposed to keep her from going public sooner than the election, after which prosecutors say Cohen was once reimbursed by means of the Trump Group. Cohen was once not directly convicted for his position in the scheme, which ran afoul of campaign finance regulations.

On Friday’s model of The ReidOut on MSNBC, Joy Reid took explicit problem with individuals who claim Cohen’s role as a witness for prosecutors might be frustrating when he takes the stand because he’s a convicted felon.

“It’s the same crime that we are adjudicating on this case,” Reid stated. “It’s simply that Michael Cohen already went to jail for it and Donald Trump is now on trial for being the accomplice with him on this crime. So, every time people say, ‘Neatly, nobody’s going to consider Michael Cohen, he’s a felon.’ He’s a felon on account of that! He did that!”

Conway answered via pointing out that the testimony heard in courtroom thus far corroborates what Cohen has stated about the case:

And every bit of testimony that has come out presentations that Michael Cohen has come clean and is telling the reality about that. Now, they’re going to go after him, say, “Smartly, you submitted this manner into the taxi fee.” No matter. They’re going to move thru all varieties of stuff. And it’s like, so what, tell me what it is that Michael is lying about on this witness stand that relates to this case?

And so they bought nothing as a result of he’s been corroborated with the aid of [David] Pecker, he’s been corroborated through his banker, corroborated through the texts, he’s been corroborated by means of the tapes he recorded of Donald Trump, he’s been corroborated by using Hope Hicks.

Conway speculated that Trump’s attorneys will try to “provoke” Cohen when he’s on the stand, but it’ll now not work as a result of “he’s got the reality on his facet.”

He concluded:

I feel the Trump individuals will have to actually be lovely petrified of Michael Cohen. And that is Michael Cohen’s likelihood to set it all straight, to set it all straight with Donald Trump. And the best way he does that is just by going with the go with the flow, you understand, admitting the stuff that he did wrong, and simply sticking to the info. And he’s a smart enough guy that he’s going to try this. And I think individuals are going to be stunned by way of that.
