David Faber’s interview with Elon Musk devolved into a long, awkward pause after the CNBC host requested about his controversial Twitter posts and the way they might affect his companies.

“Let’s talk a little about your tweets. It comes up so much,” stated Faber in an interview on Tuesday night, ahead of noting that Musk had printed tweets which have been accused of promoting conspiracy theories.

“Smartly, sure, but I imply honestly, … some of these conspiracy theories have grew to become out to be authentic,” spoke back Musk, citing the Hunter Biden laptop story for example.

Faber asked, “However, how do you’re making a decision on the subject of when you’re going to interact? I mean, as an example, even nowadays, Elon, you tweeted this thing about George Soros.”

“You said he desires to erode the very cloth of civilization and Soros hates humanity,” Faber mentioned, prompting Musk to claim, “Yeah, I feel that’s proper. That’s my opinion.”

“Ok, however why share it? Why share it?” puzzled Faber, as Musk made a puzzled face. “Why share it when individuals who purchase Teslas may not consider you? Advertisers on Twitter won’t agree with you?”

Musk replied, “Freedom of speech. I’m allowed to assert what I need.”

After Faber mentioned that some people were accusing Musk of anti-Semitism over his Soros tweet, Musk mentioned, “I’m a pro-Semite, if anything else,” ahead of including, “We don’t need to make this a George Soros interview.”

Whereas Faber then moved on from the Soros tweets in particular, he stayed on the subject of Musk’s Twitter posts and requested the billionaire whether his controversial remarks may impact his companies and harm Twitter’s relationship with the advertisers which newly-appointed CEO Linda Yaccarino is attempting to win back.

Musk sat awkwardly in silence for 12 seconds sooner than making a unusual comparability to The Princess Bride.

“You already know, I’m reminded of… there’s a scene in The Princess Bride — nice film — the place he confronts the person who killed his father and he says, ‘provide me money, provide me power, I don’t care,’” Musk remarked, to which Faber mentioned, “So you just don’t care.”

Musk reacted by using staring at Faber in silence for a couple of seconds earlier than saying, “I’ll say what I want to say and if the outcome of that is shedding money, so be it.”

Faber then brought up Musk’s tweets in regards to the Could 6 Allen, Texas mall shooting, which resulted in eight individuals being killed, together with three children.

“Adequate, however, I mean, whilst you link to any person who’s speaking about the guy who killed youngsters in a mall in Allen, Texas, and you say one thing adore it may well be a foul psyop, I’m no longer relatively positive what you intended,” Faber mentioned.

After pausing, Musk answered, “In that exact case, there was once a… by hook or by crook… that’s… no longer that the… obviously the folks had been killed, but it surely was, I think, incorrectly ascribed to be a white supremacist motion and the evidence for that used to be some obscure Russian website online that no person has ever heard of, that had no followers, and the company that found this is Bellingcat. And do you know what Bellingcat does? Psyops.”

“I’m saying that I believed ascribing it to white supremacy was bullshit and that the information for that got here from an vague Russian website and used to be come what may magically found through Bellingcat, which is a company that does psyops,” he persisted.

According to Texas authorities, the Allen shooter had tattoos and patches which linked him to “neo-Nazi ideation.”
