CNN’s Don Lemon is responding to harsh backlash Thursday over feedback he made earlier this week about New York’s controversial “cease and frisk” police tactic. Opposite to the media narrative about his remarks, Lemon now insists, “I am not aiding stop and frisk.”

Lemon gave his temporary rebuttal to Richard Prince, who writes the “Journal-isms” column for the Maynard Institute. The CNN anchor brought that he believes his feedback were “grossly misinterpreted.”

On the morning of New York’s mayoral election, Lemon delivered a monologue on the subject right through Tom Joyner’s radio convey. He argued that New Yorkers, including black and Hispanic people, do not essentially have a problem with the program as long as it is executed without inherent discrimination. But it was Lemon’s concluding query that brought about the most bad remarks from his enthusiasts: “Would you slightly be politically perfect or safe and alive?”

This isn’t the first time Lemon has discovered himself on the middle of controversy for making public remarks that some view as harsh or unfair against the African-American community. He caught flack prior this 12 months for now not most effective agreeing with Invoice O’Reilly’s advice for younger black men, but pronouncing the Fox News host “doesn’t go far enough.”
