Whereas acknowledging that middleweight fighter Sean Strickland stated “horrible” things in a latest rant, UFC president Dana White maintains it’s his right to assert them.

Days ahead of his championship combat in opposition to South African middleweight Dricus Du Plessis, Strickland went on a fiery rant attacking the LGBTQ community. He specifically singled out homosexual and trans folks, even going so far as calling a report an “enemy” for his give a boost to of those groups.

Strickland also briefly touched on the women’s co-primary experience at UFC 297 between Raquel Pennington and Mayra Bueno Silva. The 32-yr-previous printed he has no interest in ladies’s MMA – or women’s athletics typically – as a result of he doesn’t wish to see “two little cats combating.”

After the fight, White was once pressed by a reporter on Strickland’s comments. The UFC president’s response was once simply, “Free speech, brother,” and he defined how he doesn’t stop any of his combatants from announcing whatever they want.

On Wednesday’s episode of The Pat McAfee Express, it was clear his opinion remained the identical despite backlash from female combatants.

“Clearly, the 2 ladies that have been in the co-major adventure, he stated horrible things about them,” White said. “There’s no want for that. They’ve by no means completed anything else to him, however this is what he does. But on the end of the day, he’s entitled to his personal opinion and he can say no matter he wants to say.
