Colorado Rockies hitting coach sits in cockpit during team flight

The Federal Aviation Administration has launched an investigation into the Colorado Rockies after one its coaches posted a video from within the cockpit all over flight.

Hitting instruct Hensley Muelens posted the video on Instagram after an April 10 team flight. In the video, Muelens can also be viewed sitting within the cockpit, joking that he’s “flying the plane.” Seating next to him, he said, was the flight’s first officer. He then joked that he planned on landing the airplane at the crew’s vacation spot. When the woman recording the video asked him what altitude they have been at, Muelens stated they have been at 35,000 ft and started pointing at more than a few contraptions in entrance of him.

“Had some fun in the cockpit on our flight from Denver to Toronto,” Muelens said in the caption of the submit. “Due to the captain and the first officer of our United constitution that allowed me this great experience.”

On Thursday, 9News Denver reporter Chris Vanderveen verified that the FAA was once taking a look into an “unauthorized particular person in the flight deck.”

In a remark to 9News, United Airways stated the flight was at cruise altitude and autopilot was engaged. Nonetheless, United referred to as the act a “clear violation of our safety and operational policies.”
