It’s good to look the 21t century being dragged into the 21st century. On the heels of Cheerios’ determination to use an interracial family in an lovely tv industrial, a call that was a shock to the gadget for racists all over the place, Google has, for the first time, used an image of a black dad in it’s Father’s Day “doodle.” Doodles are variations of the Google brand that the corporate uses to have fun occasions like Father’s Day, or Hugo Chavez’ resurrection.

Blogger Laura Martin was happy to look a Google Father’s Day doodle that “seems like my daddy,” but the debut of black folks in Google Father’s Day doodles was once in reality shared with 9 other white dads.

The interactive doodle starts offevolved with the above image of a black dad fixing a dog house, however if you happen to click on on the 2nd “o,” the image will get shuffled, slot desktop-style, to produce different images. For instance, that you would be able to get an image of a black dad feeding a white baby, presumably carrying flesh-toned gloves?

All the other dads within the Google interactive rotation are white, so unless our black dad is fixing the dog home, he comes out taking a look like he’s in a sequel to the Rosey Grier movie The Factor With Two Heads. In case you’re every other non-white American, you’re totally out of success. But after years of solo white dads on Google doodles, it’s a begin.

Republicans, at the least, can be satisfied to note that there’s a Mitt Romney* dad:

listed Here are examples of all of the Google dad-heads from the interactive doodle, plus the remainder of Google’s Father’s Day doodles, courting again to 2000:
