An column from the New York Post written by using Fox Trade correspondent Charles Gasparino puts forth the chance that Jeff Zucker’s ouster from CNN is likely to be adopted via a downscaling of the initiatives the community has been planning with their upcoming streaming provider CNN+.

The Publish revealed an opinion piece from Gasparino during which the Fox Business correspondent broke down Zucker’s firing as CNN president and Chris Cuomo’s firing as their former high anchor. Gasparino predicted these excessive-profile departures and the subsequent legal battles will create an explosive aftermath for the network.

“If you like your media-trade laundry dirty, get your popcorn prepared; probably the most biggest gamers in Large Media may have loads of egg on their faces as this one plays out,” Gasparino wrote.

The Fox Industry correspondent then speculated about what Zucker’s exit could mean for CNN while WarnerMedia is in the process of merging with with Discovery — so they can become CNN’s new mum or dad company. Gasparino writes that Discovery chief David Zaslav could be looking to scale back headcount, given that Zucker brought in a large number of new hires to lend a hand with the launch of CNN+.

From the Submit piece:

Prior to he used to be bounced, Zucker went on a hiring spree to improve and expand CNN’s new streaming product, CNN+. Community insiders say Zas is taking a look to seriously scale back Zucker’s streaming vision to save cash — something Discovery gained’t deny to me.

And as Cuomo preps arbitration to recoup his $20 million contract, extract an apology from CNN and possibly more (The Put up’s Emily Smith says he needs $60 million for his pain and suffering), expect the soiled laundry to maintain coming. Zas’s share price will indisputably feel the ache amid the stain on his brand.
