The police division of Beverly Hills, California introduced that they’ve arrested a man suspected of vandalizing a prominent native menorah and defacing it with Nazi symbols.

Authorities were investigating the incident given that Sunday — the primary evening of Hanukkah — after receiving reviews of a person who threw rocks on the menorah while carving the SS image into the bottom. The incident was caught on surveillance cameras and the Beverly Hills Police Department introduced that 47-12 months-previous Eric Brian King of Dallas, Texas was taken into custody on prices of hate crimes and prison vandalism.

Mayor Lili Bosse celebrated the suspect’s fast arrest in a press statement, and he or she attended a ceremony for the 2d night time of the Festival of Lights.

The Menorah defacement comes amid public concerns about recent anti-semitic incidents across the country.

Los Angeles recorded a 13 % bounce in hate crimes in 2022, over final year’s record-setting data. The LAPD’s commissioner blamed social media and media figures like Kanye West for growing anti-semitic hate with their anti-semitic controversies within the final 2 months.
