A supposed grassroots “tax dodger” protest targeting Labour Deputy Leader Angela Rayner used to be uncovered as having been organised and performed by way of Conservative Party politicians, after Byline Times identified a Tory councillor as being a part of the workforce.

Rayner is dealing with power accusations that she did not pay capital features tax owed on the sale of a council house in 2015, which she has denied.
