Two planes that took 50 migrants from Florida into Martha’s Winery on Wednesday both originated in Texas, and there is now not yet a transparent resolution as to why, CNN stated.

Citing a flight manifest, the network suggested Friday evening that two personal planes that used taxpayer funds departed for the island. Every stopped in brief in the Florida panhandle. Rather then that, no other connection between the folks on the planes and Florida is instantly apparent.

The flights had been ordered through Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R), and have drawn outrage considering the fact that they touched down on the ritzy Massachusetts island. Critics have accused DeSantis of using the migrants as political pawns, with some claiming he even engaged in human trafficking.

California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) asked the Justice Division on Thursday to investigate DeSantis and other Republican governors who ship migrants out of their states for “kidnapping.”

Regardless of the entire outrage surrounding the flights, one factor has been clear all the way through the latter half of of the week: DeSantis ordered two planes to relocate undocumented immigrants from Florida into a local that’s closely Democratic, or as DeSantis called Martha’s Vineyard, a “sanctuary jurisdiction.”

In keeping with CNN, the planes did not originate from Florida, but in fact from Texas.

On OutFront, host Erin Burnett shared new reporting, which she said showed the flights’ origins, stops, and eventual destination on the island.

Burnett stated the flights were for individuals who were not, nor had ever been in, Florida:

So, let me simply exhibit you what we know – that the migrants involved with these first two flights to Martha’s Vineyard had crossed the USA border into Texas, and that’s the place DeSantis’ two non-public planes picked them up.

So then, they had been first flown to Florida. It was a quick cease there, we understand from the show up. After which, one aircraft stopped in North Carolina, the other in South Carolina. And ultimately, each went on to Martha’s Winery.

“We don’t understand here about these surprise flight paths,” Burnett said.

In keeping with the Houston Chronicle, DeSantis did not coordinate with Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) ahead of he scooped up the migrants. They’re suggested to had been picked up in San Antonio earlier than they touched down briefly in Crestview, Florida.
