David Axelrod when put next Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s obvious overtures to Donald Trump supporters as a sort of “methadone” for many who want to give up the previous president.

Many predict DeSantis to announce his candidacy for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, which would pit him towards Trump, who declared in November.

On Friday’s OutFront on CNN, host Erin Burnett aired a clip from Newsmax the previous night, where DeSantis was asked if he’d ever imagine being Trump’s vice presidential running mate if he have been requested.

“I think I’m most certainly extra of an executive man,” DeSantis answered. “I believe that you wanna be able to do things. That’s part of the reason I received into this job, is as a result of now we have motion. We’re ready to make issues happen, and I feel that’s most probably what I’m perfect suited to.”

“More of an executive guy,” Burnett echoed.

“The Ron DeSantis plan to grow to be the Republican nominee… for president is to supply himself as kind of methadone for Trump supporters who want to end the dependancy,” Axelrod responded. “The apparent resolution that, you recognize, for some would be, ‘I cannot function his vice chairman because I don’t think he should be president. Axelrod estimated DeSantis would not take this kind of gamble by announcing the most latest Republican president shouldn’t occupy the White House once more.
