Industry Insider and its mother or father company Axel Springer are standing by using the group’s reporting — which raised plagiarism accusations in opposition to the wife of billionaire hedge fund supervisor Bill Ackman.

Ackman has been on a social media warpath ever due to the fact that Insider stated that his spouse, former MIT Media Lab Professor Neri Oxman, plagiarized part of her doctoral dissertation. Whereas Oxman has admitted to her lack of citations and apologized for it, the revelations drew the wrath of Ackman — who used to be some of the vocal advocates for the ouster of Claudine Gay, the president of Harvard who resigned earlier this month amid numerous plagiarism accusations.

Ackman slammed Insider’s reporting on his spouse, even suggesting it was once driven via anti-Semitism.The hedge fund titan has publicly and privately pressured Axel Springer to take punitive actions towards Insider, and the company remaining week announced an investigation of Ackman’s claims.

That probe has now concluded. The Wall Street Journal received an inside memo from Insider CEO Barbara Peng, which mentioned “There was no unfair bias or personal, political, and/or religious motivation in the pursuit of the tales.”

“The stories have been newsworthy and Neri Oxman, who has a public profile as a outstanding mental and has been a topic of and participant in media protection, is an even subject,” the memo persevered. “The process we went through to document, edit, and review the stories was sound, as used to be the timing. The tales are accurate and the facts well documented.”

Axel Springer gave its personal affirmation to the Journal, pronouncing in a remark “We stand through Trade Insider and its newsroom.”
