Lawyer Basic Pam Bondi denied knowing anything else a few suggested FBI investigation into James Comey, a former director of the bureau.

President Donald Trump fired Comey in 2017 ahead of the director’s 10-yr term expired. Not directly, Trump replaced him with Christopher Wray, who stepped down ultimate month when it was clear Trump supposed to exchange him with Kash Patel, who’s now the director.

On Tuesday, The Washington Times suggested a whistleblower alleged that Comey ordered an “off-the-books” investigation in 2015 into Trump, then a presidential candidate.

“New management on the FBI is starting an investigation into the origins of the agency’s plan a decade in the past to infiltrate the campaign of then-candidate Donald Trump the usage of two female undercover ‘honeypot’ dealers,” the publication said.

On Wednesday, Bondi seemed on Fox News’s Jesse Watters Primetime, the place she pleaded lack of awareness relating to the probe.

“We’re listening to studies that there used to be an investigation opened into James Comey, who may have thrown honeypots at Donald Trump back within the 2015, 2016 years,” Jesse Watters said. “Is that actual?”

“Jesse, I don’t understand anything about what you’re pronouncing about James Comey right now,” Bondi replied. “Don’t recognize anything about that.”

“I’ll take it at that,” Watters said earlier than transferring on to some other matter.

Trump has baselessly alleged that Comey spied on his 2016 presidential marketing campaign on the behest of then-President Barack Obama.

Trump fired Comey two months later.
