Andrew Weissman, who was once part of Different Advice Robert Mueller’s investigation into whether Donald Trump colluded with the Russian executive and obstructed justice, ripped the Durham record on Monday.

Different Counsel John Durham launched his findings into the federal probe that appeared into conceivable ties between Trump’s 2016 marketing campaign and the Russian govt. The report says the scope of the investigation was once too extensive.

Over 4 years, Durham prosecuted two defendants at trial, with both being discovered no longer responsible. A third defendant pleaded guilty to altering an email when in quest of to obtain warrants towards a former Trump adviser.

Weissmann appeared on Monday’s version of Time limit: White House on MSNBC, and was asked about his team’s findings being scrutinized.

“What used to be it wish to have your probe investigated for four years?” Nicolle Wallace requested.

“So, we were very conscious… that there used to be going to be an investigation of us,” he stated. “And you already know what? Our view of that was once, ‘Fantastic.’”

Weismann stated he would be open to Durham’s conclusions if he believed it was once a “good religion” examination. Alternatively, he stated that wasn’t the case.

“You wanna talk about a witch hunt or kind of, actual, wasted instruments,” he said. “If John Durham used to be in point of fact just doing an investigation to speak about, what are better insurance policies and practices that the FBI can have and was depoliticizing it, I would’ve been concerned with that and stated, ‘Nice. There’s no company that can’t use better scrutiny.’ But this used to be seeking to say that there’s an enormous there, there when there’s no, there, there.”

He concluded, “There are individuals who’ve long past to penitentiary who are rightly found guilty, and what you have got with John Durham is like, it’s a big fat nothing.”
